what upset me today

Filed under: Music, bitch, blah blahs — sororitychick @ 9:48 pm

i have been dreading going into my old room after they got it painted last last week. and my fears were not unfounded.

my beautiful wall littered with old posters are now painted white. and the worst thing is, the utter disregard they had for my stuff. no one told me that the room was going to be painted until after the fact so…ewan.

I got overly upset when i saw the state the stupid effers left my beloved posters in. I realize how spoiled that is considering what other people lost from the bagyo (perspective sucks) but whereas there’s only so much you can do against flood, you only need common sense and respect for other people’s belongings to avoid this. Diba you should know that you should leave stuff the way you found them? Maybe not hanging on the wall anymore (duh), but definitely not littered on the floor being used as “drop cloth.”

My signed Wolfgang Wurm poster is now torn and paint splattered.

And where the hell can I get Eraserheads posters now??? =’(

They even Sylar-ed Sir Paul McCartney!!! Sacrilege!!!

I AM FULL OF HATE.

wow…embarrassing but, less than a minute into the season 6 premier of Grey’s Anatomy and tears were already flowing.

Okay so maybe i was already teary from Ra’mon’s ousting (auf-ting?) from project runway…but really.

i was going to put that as my facebook status but thought better of it. because i do not want to be pegged as a grey’s anatomy fan. especially since i’m not.

I swear.

i just love alex and izzie :D HA!

of course i’m trying to make light of things. but death…yeah.

rock-E-oke

Filed under: Music, partei — sororitychick @ 7:59 am

just had to post to get rid of that 90210 blurb that shows up in my friendster profile page…

Lucky I have something to share even if it is a little belated. not about the Eheads Final Set though (that will come later) but definitely an Eraserheads Experience. (PLUG! Add this app if you’re on facebook and an eraserheads fan: http://apps.facebook.com/eraserheads-e-caecbj - it’s a gift app where the gifts are eheads songs imagery)

That is me with sorority sis Ish2o0o belting out one of my favorite Heads songs - Wishing Wells.

This was March 6, Rock-E-oke at Mag:net Highstreet. An Eraserheads tribute night - thus the E - on the night before the epic Final Set.

They regularly have these rockeoke nights where people can shamelessly karaoke with a live band on stage. It’s mostly rock songs but they occasionally have theme nights (like disney-oke or broadway-oke).

Take note that i used the word shamelessly.

Harry and I were second to take the stage. Had to sing Pare Ko before the place got packed. Mare Ko also had to bail early.

Ish2K was the only one among us girls brave enough to do a solo. Her song? Shake Yer Head!

my friend Karen with my ΣΔΦ sisses Deen2K and Krystal98 singing Pare Ko again later that night for the benefit (:D) of the latecomers

ΑΦΒ fratman and ace attorney takes the stage with Ligaya

The night was amazing and the perfect way to slake the excitement for the next night’s concert. Ace and K managed to win a couple of the tickets that the organizers were giving away!

We capped off the night at Capones to watch Overtone do some awesome covers (not as awesome as our eheads covers though ;>) and have a Rico Blanco sighting (”Ish, sino yung guy? familiar sya…” lol. i kinda hate Rico Blanco).

The Eraserheads Final Set? Is a story on it’s own. Will write about it later…I have to go back to sleep now as it’s almost 8am march 21 (happy birthday ghet!) and I only woke up at 5 to see P off for his trip to SF.

And I need to repost this whole thing at multiply as well…

Guilty Pleasure of the Week

Filed under: Television — sororitychick @ 11:47 pm

Yeah.

Seriously.

I know 90210 is crap and if you don’t know I am telling you now it’s crap and you shouldn’t waste time watching it.

But! This week’s episode was kinda awesome. It might have something to do with the fact that the focus is shifting from the supposed lead (Ugly Annie) to a character played by someone who can actually act (Adrianna - who is not even in the promo shot!). At least I hope that’s the direction the show is going. Because Shenae Grimes sucks and seriously bugs like hell and Jessica Lowndes can act circles around her. It was amusing to see SG’s character who they were trying to make out to be the 2nd best actress in their high school get a smackdown from the new drama teacher. Her being told she needs acting classes was so meta.

And now even the character of Naomi who used to be annoying is getting tolerable because she has less interaction with Annie and more friendship scenes with A! Although it might also just be because her hair is a lot less scary now :D
And even the father thing won’t work out…they should keep Ty around because he’s the only eye candy in the show.

The more of these two I see in the show, the better

Ty and Adrianna - the more of these two I see in the show, the better

Time for another installment of my do-it-yourself posts….the project this time is a mask for my niece.  The theme is transportation - any - but since their preschool class would also use these masks for their Family Day Halloween Ball of a different theme (princesses?), my sister decided the mask should be a pirate ship, and that Charlie would be a pirate princess (ARR! run-on!).

Who better to enlist for help than the aunt with nothing better to do?

She sent me this document with costume ideas which makes me want to dress up a a pirate for Halloween too! (Party ulit, jasonic!)

And because I like making my work time longer than necessary, here are the step-by-step pictures of my attempt at arts and crafts

I Don’t Watch TV!

Filed under: Television, Web/Tech, blah blahs — sororitychick @ 2:05 am

Funny. I’ve been looking for some
time-consuming shows to watch for the days surrounding my weekly
scheduled viewing of Lost, Project Runway, Survivor and Celebrity
Apprentice among others. I realize, with this list, I’m outing myself
as a reality TV fangirl and I haven’t even mentioned the most
embarrassing guilty pleasure that is America’s Next Top Model.  In my
defense, it is hilarious - Tyra Banks is insane.  Everyone’s making fun
of her nowadays.  Also, this is only my second (non-consecutive) season
of Survivor and the only reason I’m watching is OZZY!

It’s the WGA strike fault.

Anyway, back to the funny…so I watched the pilots of Quarterlife and Greek.  Because I can’t wait till Thursday and Friday, which is when my regular shows come out.

Greek revolves around the panhellenic community in this fictional college - all frat boys, sorority girls and freshmen pledges.

Quarterlife is the TV extension of what originally started out as 8-minute web clips steamed on the website quarterlife.com
and MySpaceTV.  The story revolves around a woman whose video blog (on
quarterlife.com, natch) spills the closest secrets of her friends, the
other characters.  each one all secretly in love with each other or
something.  You’ve got to admire their optimism about living till the
ripe old age of 100.

Anyway,
back to the funny (again).  After watching Greek (I watched QL first),
I went to imdb to check the actor list as a few looked somewhat
familiar.  One looked like the guy who played Logan Echolls in Veronica
Mars, but I knew it wasn’t him.  But then I clicked on the other frat
guy and his filmography said:

            Actor:

              1. "Quarterlife" …. Jed (3 episodes, 2007)

              2. "Women’s Murder Club" …. Milo Bishop (1 episode, 2007)

              3. "The Game" …. Brandon (1 episode, 2007)

              4. "Greek" …. Cappie (10 episodes, 2007)

So, yeah, that’s my "funny."  Not really funny, I know.

You know what is funny?

Well,
I still technically don’t watch TV, but when working on the PC, I have
a view of the TV. And the people at home watch Lobo - you know the
Angel/Piolo teleserye about werewolves.

So I’ve been
indirectly watching it.  Oh, Lord, it’s so ridiculous.  I once asked a
question and had to be corrected that they were soldiers, not policemen.
Whatever. Piolo? Shaina? soldiers? English speaking sometimes Taglish
soldiers. Gah…and don’t get me started with that Devil Wears Prada
character rip-offs.  So yeah, 8.30pm weekdays, Lobo…after Kung-Fu
kids.

lol.

Across the Universe

Across_the_universe
This looks interesting.  A musical based on songs of the Beatles…if the movie turns out to suck, you’ll at least hear good music.

It’s a year old movie, but is now being shown here.  I’m gonna have to get someone to watch this with since my two constant movie buddies are out of the country.
